You’re having a party or special event. You’ve researched available banquet halls in Houston or its surrounding areas and you’ve come across our restaurant in Humble TX, Italiano’s Restaurant, which is a little north of Houston. To your surprise, not only do we have event space in the restaurant but we also have a separate venue that borders the restaurant just waiting for you to reserve your special event. However before making such a big decision, it is important to ask all of the pertinent questions about having an event with us or any other special event facility or venue.
When choosing the perfect event space, one of the biggest questions or concerns depending on your event is the amount of available parking. If there is no easy access to park cars for hundreds of guests, this may deter the client and they may pass on this location.
Once you have seen the space for your event, ask about the flexibility of the floor plan. Can the space be changed around based on the nature of the service it will be used for? The set up for weddings, birthdays, engagement parties, retirement parties, anniversary parties etc. may be different from those who are searching for space for corporate catering in Houston.
Once you have determined that the space will meet your specific needs, the next question to ask about are any special event packages that include price per person and menu availability as well as what amenities will be provided. For example, does the venue provide table and chairs, or table cloths and chair covers in more than one color? Is the use of fine china, flatware and stemware standard or optional? How many hours are available for the setup, actual event and take down? Are the clients responsible for clean up of the venue or is there janitorial staff that is responsible for that? Is there a Coordinator or Event Planner available on site? Are there any events that require hiring of security for example teenage events such as Sweet Sixteen and graduation parties?
It is also imperative to know the guidelines for using outside vendors. Can I bring in an outside florist, specialty cake, or a personal event coordinator? Do you reserve more than one event a day?
For corporations planning events, wanting to know the menu availability is a given, but many corporate events that are not only for food and fellowship may require certain kinds of technology. Does the banquet hall have audio visual equipment-projector, projection screen, overhead projector, or Wi-Fi capabilities? In general, is it standard for any of the banquet halls in Houston or nearby areas to have these amenities? Also does the space have a room divider for gatherings that may be dividing into groups?
The questions seem to be endless but as a client, you want to know what you are getting for your money. Of course, the biggest question of all is how much is this going to cost me?
